The standard by which the success 
of a relationship is measured 
should not be death.

  1. But when you measure it other ways, sometimes a "relationship terminated by death" still has its advantages. If you measure its success by the amount of happiness you bring each other during the relationship minus the amount of fighting done to dissolve the relationship, then often death omits the entire subtraction term out of the equation.
